San Jose, CA -
Fernando Pisani scored in the fourth round of the shootout as the Edmonton Oilers snapped San Jose's franchise-record 11- game winning streak with a 2-1 win at HP Pavilion.
After Dwayne Roloson stopped Jonathan Cheechoo's slap shot, Pisani skated in on net and slid a soft backhander between the pads of Evgeni Nabokov for the win.
Roloson finished with 48 saves while Ales Hemsky scored the goal for the Oilers, who have won five of their last six games.
Patrick Marleau scored the lone goal while Nabokov stopped 22 shots for the Sharks, who hadn't lost since February 20 in New Jersey.
San Jose now has 93 points, which is three more than Anaheim for first place in the Pacific and second overall in the Western Conference.
"We have points in 12 straight games, and we're in great position," said Sharks coach Ron Wilson. "With a little bit of luck, we might be able to reel Detroit in. But you want to keep on plugging and win the games at hand."
